Coronavirus in Uruguay: 19 deaths, 7,604 new cases and 162 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Friday 7,604 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 19,938 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 38.1%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people (PCR and antigens).

What’s more, there were 19 deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 58 and 100 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 6,729 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 55,642 active cases across the country and 162 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 756 correspond to the health personnel.

Of the 7,604 new cases, 3,459 were from Montevideo, 1,090 from Canelones, 354 from San José, 336 from Maldonado, 324 from Florida, 320 from Colonia, 275 from Tacuarembo, 218 from Paysandú, 170 from Soriano, 150 from Lavalleja, 142 from Salto, 119 from Río Negro, 112 from Rivera, 106 from Cerro Largo, 106 from Treinta y Tres, 103 from Artigas, 90 from Rocha, 72 from Flores and 58 from Durazno.

All departments report infected people this Friday, and Montevideo leads in number of assets with 26,765. follow him cannelloni (8,255), Maldonado (2,309) and Saint Joseph (1916), among others.

For the report of the day, the Ministry of Public Health reported that removed 10 cases from the active list.
