Uruguay registered this Wednesday 1,676 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 10,932 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 15.3%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people (antigen and PCR).
What’s more, there were six deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 7,116 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.
There are 9,453 active cases across the country and 63 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 234 correspond to the health personnel.
Of the 1,676 new cases, 710 were from Montevideo, 240 from Canelones, 185 from Colonia, 68 from San José, 59 from Cerro Largo, 53 from Florida, 51 from Maldonado, 48 from Rivera, 42 from Lavalleja, 34 from Durazno, 30 from Treinta y Tres, 29 from Tacuarembó, 26 from Artigas, 25 from Rocha, 24 from Paysandú, 19 from Soriano, 17 from Salto, 11 from Flores and five from Río Negro.
For the report of the day, the Ministry of Public Health reported that removed six cases from the active list.
