Coronavirus in Uruguay: 1,513 new cases, eight deaths and 83 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Friday 1,513 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 9,088 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 16.6%, although duplicate tests on some people are also included.

What’s more, there were eight deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 75 and 97 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 7,083 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 10,636 active cases across the country and 83 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 250 correspond to the health personnel.

Of the 1,513 new cases, 700 were from Montevideo, 229 from Canelones, 85 from Colonia, 57 from Cerro Largo, 54 from Maldonado, 53 from San José, 47 from Artigas, 45 from Florida, 39 from Lavalleja, 26 from Rocha, 24 from from Paysandú, 24 from Rivera, 24 from Salto, 23 from Treinta y Tres, 22 from Durazno, 22 from Soriano, 18 from Tacuarembo, 14 from Flores and seven from Río Negro.

All departments report active cases this Friday and Montevideo leads with 4,842. follow him cannelloni (1,596), Cologne (701) and Maldonado (495), among others.

For the report of the day, the Ministry of Public Health reported that removed 23 cases from the active list.
