Uruguay registered this Wednesday 2,468 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 10,036 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae).
What’s more, there were 14 deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, aged between 60 and 99 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020 until now, 7,005 deaths from the disease have been recorded.
There are 18,593 active cases across the country and 116 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total number of positive cases with the disease, 281 correspond to health personnel.
Of the 2,468 new cases, 1,097 are from Montevideo, 343 from Canelones, 192 from Colonia, 116 from Maldonado, 87 from Lavalleja, 82 from Tacuarembó, 78 from San José, 52 from Florida, 48 from Rocha, 46 from Artigas, 45 from Soriano, 44 from Treinta y Tres, 39 from Paysandú, 37 from Salto, 36 from Rivera, 33 from Cerro Largo, 31 from Durazno, 31 from Flores and 31 from Río Negro.
All departments report infected people this Wednesday and Montevideo leads in number of active cases, with 9,018. follow him cannelloni (2,933), Maldonado (939) and Cologne (830).
