Coronavirus in Uruguay: 12 deaths, 6,102 new cases and 153 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Sunday 6,102 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 15,811 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 38.6%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people (PCR and antigens).

What’s more, there were 12 deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 55 and 92 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 6,637 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 63,268 active cases across the country and 153 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 944 correspond to the health personnel.

Of the 6,102 new cases, 3,140 were from Montevideo, 966 from Canelones, 215 from Tacuarembó, 202 from San José, 188 from Paysandú, 180 from Maldonado, 159 from Colonia, 136 from Soriano, 134 from Cerro Largo, 119 from Rivera, 111 from Río Negro, 110 from Salto, 88 from Lavalleja, 76 from Florida, 76 from Rocha, 73 from Treinta y Tres, 67 from Artigas, 44 from Durazno and 18 from Flores.

All departments report infected people this Friday, and Montevideo leads in number of assets with 29,692. follow him cannelloni (8,883), Maldonado (2,906) and Jump (2,089), among others.
