A total of 3,273 samples were analyzed on Monday, May 23; of them, 31 were positive for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Cuba, according to information released today by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).

1,395 people remained hospitalized, of which 1,133 were suspected of having been infected, another 21 under epidemiological surveillance, while the number of confirmed active persons was set at 241.
Of the total cases, 15 were female and 16 male, 25 had contacts of confirmed cases, and six remain without a specified source of infection. No infections with a foreign source were reported and only three patients were asymptomatic.
In terms of age, 15 are under 20 years old, another eight are between 20 and 39 years old, three are in the range of 40 to 59, and five are over 60 years old.
The provinces of Guantánamo, Las Tunas and Granma did not report positive cases, and the rest of the territories reported less than a dozen cases, with Camagüey being the most affected with eight new patients.
The Minsap also reported that 55 discharges were granted on the day. The two evacuated at the beginning of the pandemic and the 57 returned to their countries remain. In the intensive care rooms there was only one patient due to the coronavirus, his condition was reported as serious.
