Until midnight on Sunday, September 18, the laboratories conditioned by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) in a pandemic analyzed 1,744 samples and 14 of them were positive for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

In addition, 162 people remain admitted; among them 69 suspected of having been infected with the new coronavirus, while 93 active confirmed cases are set.
Of the new patients, 10 are women and four are men. Of the total, 11 were contacts of confirmed cases, one had its source of infection outside the country and the way in which two other people acquired the disease could not be identified.
Regarding their ages, seven are under 20 years old, another four are in the range of 20 to 39 years old, only one patient is between 50 and 59 years old, and two are over 60 years old.
Only eight provinces in the country reported new cases this time, but none exceeded five infections. Holguín, with four infested, was the territory with the highest numbers.
The Minsap also reported that the two evacuated at the beginning of the pandemic and the 57 returned to their countries remain.
On the day, 12 medical discharges were granted. Three patients received care in the intensive care units, all reported as confirmed serious.
