The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba reported that up to midnight on Thursday, April 21, 7,555 samples had been analyzed. Of these, 282 were positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The most recent part of the health organization states that on the day he died from the COVID-19 a man over 90 years old, resident in the province of Granma; therefore, deaths on the Island since the start of the pandemic now amount to 8,523. This represents a fatality rate of 0.77%.

Currently, 4,428 people are admitted, of which 3,046 are suspected of having contracted the new coronavirus, while those confirmed active now stand at 1,345.
276 of the new infections were contacts of confirmed cases, three recently arrived in the country already sick, and the source of infection of three other patients was sought.
As for ages, 101 are under 20 years old; 55 are in the 20 to 39 age range, another 43 are between 40 and 59 years old and 83 are over 60 years old.
According to this information, all the provinces of the country reported infections, but none exceeded the figure of 50. Camagüey and Havana, both with 45 cases, exhibit the highest figures of the day.
316 medical discharges were granted on the day and 20 patients were treated in intensive care units, 11 of them in critical condition and nine reported as serious.
