The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba reported the detection of 77 new cases of COVID-19thanks to the study of 6594 samples this Thursday.
The most recent party The health agency indicates that there were no deaths due to the disease on the day, because the official number of deaths accumulated since the start of the pandemic remains at 8,529. This represents a mortality rate of 0.77%.
Currently, 2,048 people are hospitalized, of which 1,601 are suspected of having contracted the SARS-Cov-2 virus, another 11 under epidemiological surveillance, while the confirmed active numbers are numbered at 436.
Among those hospitalized, nine patients are treated in intensive care units, two of them reported as critical and seven in serious condition, according to the Minsap.

Of the total number of new cases, 70 were contacts of confirmed cases, one had its source of infection abroad and work is being done to identify the origin of the contagion of six patients.
As for ages, there are 44 new infected with less than 20 years, another eight are between 20 and 39 years old, while nine are between 40 and 59 years old, and 16 are over 60 years old.
All the country’s provinces reported cases on the day, but less than ten infections, except Havana, which reported 16.
The Minsap also reports that the two evacuated at the beginning of the pandemic and the 57 returned to their countries remain, and notified of 98 medical discharges during the day.
