Coronavirus in Cuba: infections without exceeding 200 on Tuesday

Until midnight on Tuesday, April 26, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported 191 new cases of coronavirus in Cuba. No deaths from COVID-19 were reported.

The most recent part of the health organization points out that 3,308 people remain admitted and that the number of confirmed active persons stood at 1,021.

Of the total number of reported cases, 185 were contacts of confirmed cases, three had their source of infection abroad, and work is being done to define the route of infection of three patients.

Regarding ages, 73 patients are under 20 years old, another 36 range from 20 to 39 years old, 35 are between 40 and 59 years old, while 47 are over 60 years old.

The province of Camagüey remains the main source of infection on the island, adding 37 infections, while Havana (27) and Pinar del Río (24) were the other territories that exceeded twenty cases.

According to the MINSAP report, several statistics remained unchanged, such as the two evacuated and the 57 returned to their countries, in addition to the 8,525 deaths since the start of the pandemic on the island, which represents a fatality rate of 0.77%.

In addition, he reported that 229 patients were discharged on the day, and that so far 21 patients are being treated in intensive care units, six of them reported as critical and 15 in serious condition.
