Coronavirus in Cuba: infections grow and exceed 60 this Thursday

The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) confirmed the epidemiological trend of recent days, reporting in its part today that thanks to 2,223 samples analyzed until midnight on Thursday, July 14, 64 infections of coronavirus in Cuba.

The health authorities indicate Until now, 479 people had been admitted, of which 232 were suspected of having contracted SARS-CoV-2, while the number of confirmed active persons closed at 247.

There were no deaths related to the disease on the day either, so the 8,529 deaths since the start of the pandemic remain. The fatality rate is 0.77%.

Of the total number of new patients, 45 were contacts of confirmed cases and 11 had their source of infection abroad, while the diagnosis of eight people does not include a defined source of infection.

Of the total number of patients, 43 are women and 21 men. Regarding ages, 24 are under 20 years old, another 20 are between 20 and 39 years old, seven are in the range of 40 to 59 years old while 13 are over 60 years old.

All provinces had reports, with the highest incidence in Havana (12) and Matanzas (10), the only ones that reached a dozen or more infections. Mayabeque (9) and Holguín (8) follow in higher numbers by territory.

The Minsap reported that 42 medical discharges were granted while in the intensive care units a single patient, reported in serious condition, remained hospitalized.
