In 24 closed the number of new cases of COVID-19 in Cuba this Sunday, thanks to the 2,928 samples analyzed by the health system laboratories until midnight on June 19.
According to part published on the website of Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) From Cuba, 257 people are currently hospitalized, of which 170 are suspected of having been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, while those confirmed active stand at 87.

Of the new patients, 15 are women and 10 men; of the total, 20 were contacts of confirmed cases and in five the source of infection corresponds to foreigners
Regarding their ages, the report indicates that 11 are under 20 years old, six are in the range of 20 to 39 years old, four patients are between 40 and 59 years old and a similar figure is over 60 years old.
Eight provinces and the Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality reported new cases, but only Havana exceeded three infections, with 11 in total.
The Minsap reported that there were 15 medical discharges granted on the day, and that since no deaths occurred, the number of deaths registered since the start of the pandemic remains at 8,529, which represents a fatality rate of 0.77%.
The 2 evacuated at the beginning of the pandemic and the 57 returned to their countries are also maintained. Only one patient was cared for in intensive care units.
