The country is going through a new wave of coronavirus and, although infections have increased in recent weeks, the level of hospitalizations remains stable, thanks to vaccination coverage.
In this regard, the Minister of Health of the province of Buenos Aires, Nicolás Kreplak, pointed out that, during the last week, the cases of coronavirus rose, but the rate of contagion decreased covid 19.
“The number of cases is not going down, but last week we registered 100% weekly and this week that begins it increased 26%” explained the minister, who also pointed out that the variant of the coronavirus circulating in the country, can evade testing.
Thus, the main recommendation of the authorities is to reinforce protection measures and vaccinationfor which they invite all citizens to start and complete schemes and receive reinforcement, as appropriate.
Precisely vaccination, according to the minister, is what has allowed the country to have fewer hospitalizations and, therefore, serious cases and deaths from the disease.
“It has been a wave with a good number of cases, which is apparently being controlled and has not affected the number of hospitalizations,” said Kreplak, who also insisted that positive cases must remain in isolation.
“When one has the symptoms of the disease compatible with Influenza or with covid, such as congestion, sore throat, fever, without the need to know if it is specifically a virus, you have to do isolation for five days or the days that one is symptomatic, and ten days with maximum protection, mask and ventilation afterwards”.
