daily cases of coronavirus in Cuba they remained low, after the report of 31 new infections at the close of this Thursday by the island’s health authorities.
However, the figure confirms a slight rebound in recent days, since last weekend the new patients fell below 20 for the first time in many months. The lowest number was reached on Monday, with 13, but since then the cases have exceeded twenty again until now reaching 31.
In this way, and after the granting of 20 medical discharges yesterday, the active cases again exceeded one hundred (104), while those admitted remain below one thousand (943), of which 35 are under surveillance and 804 suspects.
In intensive care units there are two patients in critical condition, while there were no deaths on the day by COVID-19, according to the part of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).

As for the new patients, these were detected after the analysis of 4,173 samples. Of them, 27 were contacts of confirmed cases and four had their source of infection abroad.
Only three (9.7% of the total) were asymptomatic at the time of detection.
By sex, males (16) predominated this time over females (15), while by age groups the highest record was of those under 20 years of age (14). The rest was distributed among patients aged 20 to 39 years (5), 40 to 59 years (8) and 60 and over (4).
Finally, Havana (7) and Holguín (6) were the provinces with the highest number of cases, while Pinar del Río and Matanzas did not report infections, as did Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo.
