The infections caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus on Tuesday, August 30, totaled 42 in Cuba, according to the report that post today the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) and where 59 discharges are reported.
The laboratories processed 1,864 samples and, of the positive ones, 36 correspond to contacts of confirmed cases, while six included the patients in whom the cause of the infection was not specified. No imported cases were recorded.

Eleven territories identified patients, and among them, once again, only Holguín (14) presented the highest figures. On the contrary, Pinar del Río, Mayabeque, Matanzas, Cienfuegos and the Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality were free of infections.
In total, 352 people remained hospitalized due to COVID-19; of these, 204 were confirmed active cases. In intensive care rooms, a bedridden patient was registered, reported as serious.
By age ranges, 29 were under 20 years old; six corresponded to the range between 20 and 39 years, one to 40 to 59 years and six were over 60.
The fatalities of COVID-19 remain at 8,530 since deaths were also not reported and the lethality is 0.77% in Cuba, where the first cases of COVID-19 were detected in March 2020.
