Santo Domingo.-The Dominican Mining Corporation (CORMIDOM) will give a press conference this Tuesday on the rescue efforts and the situation in which the miners find themselves.
The vice president of the entity, Elizabeth Mena, indicated that the meeting with the press will be at 4 in the afternoon in the municipality of Maimón, Monseñor Nouel province.
Likewise, he reiterated that the two trapped miners receive food based on recommendations by a specialist for cases like these.
Mena, through a call to Despierta con CDN, stated that every day a commission from the Ministry of Energy and Mines accompanies CORMIDOM’s rescue efforts.
Who are the trapped miners
It is a Dominican and a Colombian. The Dominican is Gregores Méndez Torres, 28, a resident of the Maimón community, Monseñor Nouel province.
While the Colombian is Carlos Yépez Ospina, who was brought to the country when the Cormidom company began mining through tunnels.
Yépez Ostina is an expert in this type of mining and his mission is to train Dominicans in these techniques.
