After this triumph at home, Coxa moved away from the relegation zone of the competition, jumping to 12th position with 18 points. Tricolor, on the other hand, remains at the bottom of the competition after the setback, with 10 points.
Coritiba started the match with everything, and opened the scoring with 1 minute of ball rolling. Alef Manga advanced at speed on the left and crossed just as Léo Gamalho headed in style.
Fortaleza only managed to react after the break, when coach Juan Vojvoda made changes that left his team more dangerous at the front. And the situation of Tricolor improved even more in the 38th minute, when the side Nathan was sent off by the referee, in a decision made with the help of VAR (video referee).
And it only took one minute for Fortaleza to equalize, in a headed goal by defender Habraão after a cross by Romarinho.
And when everything seemed to be going for a draw, Coritiba managed to get the victory in stoppage time with José Hugo after a great run.
