Cruzeiro defeated São Carlos 2-0, this Wednesday (8), to close the first stage of the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior as first place in Group 13 of the competition. With this triumph, Raposa ended the initial phase of the main youth football competition in the world with a total of seven points.

Cruzeiro’s victory was built at the end of the first half. In the 34th minute, Bruno Alves launched the ball from the defense field to Kaique Kenji, who, with great freedom, dominated on the right wing, invaded the area and hit the ball past goalkeeper Giovani. A minute later, Raposa expanded with Jhosefer, who took advantage of the São Carlos defense’s inattention to win a tackle with the opposing goalkeeper before pushing the ball into the back of the goal.
Now the team from Minas Gerais awaits the definition of the second place in Group 14, who will be their opponent in the next phase of the competition.
