The Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) and the Superintendency of the National Body Against Corruption, signed this Friday an inter-institutional cooperation agreement on the protection of the administration and public assets, to prevent and punish corruption.
The agreement was signed by the president of the Supreme Court, Gladys Gutiérrez, and the Superintendent of the National Anti-Corruption Corps, Jhoana Alodia Ytriago.
After the signing, the magistrate showed her satisfaction for the cooperation and pointed out that its execution ratifies the sense of the refoundation of the Administration of Justice, refers to a press release, published in its web portal.
Similarly, it reaffirms the commitment of the highest court in actions to strengthen respect for human rights in the country.
The president of the TSJ, in addition, reaffirmed to the superintendency the support of the Judiciary, in order to prevent and prosecute derivative and related crimes associated with the phenomenon of corruption and others linked to organized crime.
According to the circular, the agreement seeks to establish a cooperation framework to provide technical support to the Superintendency, to plan, develop, implement, evaluate and adjust policies for the prevention of corruption.
In the same way, joint work is pointed out for the investigation, sanction and effective enforcement of the penalties and other legal consequences imposed, including civil liability derived from the crime, to those guilty of such crimes.
