Keiber Beikert Tovar Blanco (26) and Yanis José Herrera Pinto (39) were sentenced to 15 years and 8 months in prison, after admitting their responsibility in the forced prostitution of a 27-year-old woman.
The sentence was handed down by the 1st Trial Court in matters of crimes of violence against women in the state of Aragua. The case was detected on October 31, 2024 in the Sorocaima neighborhood, Santiago Mariño municipality.
Cicpc officials went to a home after receiving a complaint about a woman being held against her will.
Upon arriving at the scene, the victim stated that she had been forced to have sexual relations with strangers for eight months. She also revealed that she was transferred to other places for sexual encounters, for lucrative purposes for her attackers.
The officials proceeded to arrest Tovar Blanco and Herrera Pinto, who were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
During the trial, the 64th national and 24th Aragua prosecutors’ offices ratified the accusation of forced prostitution and gathering.
Both crimes are contemplated in the Organic Law on the Right of Women to a Life Free of Violence and the Penal Code.
The defendants admitted the facts, which allowed the court to hand down the sentence based on the evidence presented. Those convicted will serve their sentence at the 26 de Julio Penitentiary Center, located in San Juan de los Morros, Guárico state.
