The Public Ministry reported that Víctor José Gómez González (47) was sentenced to 20 years in prison after admitting his responsibility in the sexual abuse of his 14-year-old daughter.
The incident was detected on June 4 in the Hacienda del Medio urbanization of the José Vidal Marcano parish of the Tucupita municipality, Delta Amacuro state, according to a press release from the public body.
That day, the victim confessed to a representative of her school that her father had sexually abused her since she was 3 years old, which is why they reported the situation to the Public Ministry.
Hours later, a regional police commission arrested Gómez González, while he was removing his daughter from her study center.
At the beginning of the trial, Prosecutor 5to of that jurisdiction ratified the accusation against the man for committing a sexual act with a particularly vulnerable victim.
Once the evidence presented by the prosecutors in the case had been evaluated and after the admission of the facts, the 1st Trial Court of Delta Amacuro issued the aforementioned sentence against Gómez González, who remains in the Guasina Detention and Protection Center of that entity.
