Controlled fire in the Cachimbo sector in the Waraira Repano

The Minister of People’s Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, A/J Remigio Ceballos, reported that the fire that occurred in the Cachimbo sector in Waraira Repano had already been fully controlled.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, he said with the participation of the Risk Management System, Forest Firefighters and officials of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) that they maintained continuous work to combat the forest fire in the Cachimbo del Waraira Repano sector. .

«The affected area is approximately 700 meters and has a sloping topography, with moderate and strong winds. The work was carried out with air support for the transfer of personnel and equipment, with the aim of mitigating the incident, ”M/G Carlos Pérez Ampueda, Vice Minister for Risk Management and Civil Protection, reported on his social networks.

“The fire in the Waraira Repano has been controlled, thanks to the direct and forceful action of the Risk Management System, Forest Firefighters and Citizen Security Bodies of our Miranda State Police, guaranteeing the protection of the environment,” reads the post of Ceballos.

The Public Ministry, through the Environment Directorate, requested before the corresponding Courts a precautionary measure of an environmental nature for the Waraira Repano National Park.

Since the beginning of April, forest fires have been registered in the aforementioned vegetal lung due to the high temperatures, typical of the season. These situations have been controlled by members of the forest fire departments, Civil Protection, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), as well as by park rangers and volunteers.
