The Operational Strategic Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, Domingo Hernández Lárez, said that the military operations continue active on the Colombian-Venezuelan border, within the framework of the operation “Catatumbo Lightning.”
The information was shared through its account in the social network X, together with a video where the activity in the maritime and aerial spaces of that region is reflected, to prevent the incursion of paramilitary groups in Venezuelan territory.
This operation extends from the regions of northern Táchira, adjacent to the north of Santander, to the regions of Zulia, close to all that area of Ríos near the Catatumbo.
It consists of the disarticulation of groups that intend to expand their illegal activities to the Bolivarian border side, as well as the Minister of Popular Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, during Deployment activation on January 31.
The objective is to defend the nation and destroy everything related to drug trafficking, whatever the cell that has to invade the homeland for its illegal businesses. So military officials will carry out monitoring work to end strategic points for these crimes, ranging from destruction of laboratories and matter for drug processing, to destruction of clandestine tracks.
