With 26 votes in favor, zero against and 19 absences, the motion of Senator Blas Llano was approved, to postpone for eight days the study of the project that sanctions the contempt of a request for a report from the Legislative Power.
Currently there are 80 unanswered requests for reports and they correspond to different public institutions. Since there is no regulation for non-compliance with this constitutional obligation, it was decided to prepare this project.

The article first establishes that, whoever fails to comply with a request for a report sent by the Chamber of Senators or the Chamber of Deputies, under article 192 of the National Constitution, will be punished with a custodial sentence of six months to two years or a fine.
The sanction also includes the requests that are formulated by the commissions of both chambers, by virtue of article 186 of the Magna Carta.
Furthermore, if the perpetrator committed the actor, even before the reiteration of the request, the sentence will be increased up to five years in prison.
Subsequently, the Chamber before which the request has been breached, The fact will be reported to the Criminal Prosecutor’s Office on Duty for the start of the prosecution.
