Another container with 500 wooden logs of the species Dalbergia retusa, better known as Cocobolo, and which is in danger of extinction, was seized by the National Police in conjunction with officials from Mi Ambiente and the Public Ministry.

Last Monday a large amount of wood was also seized in a Colon port.

The discovery occurred in a shipment located in a port in the province of Colón, which would be sent to Shanghai, China.

According to Omar Castillo, executive of area A. of the Colon Police Zone, the wood is valued at one million one hundred thousand dollars ($1,100,000) in the international market.
