The component that estimates the perception of consumers about the expected economic situation of household members within 12 months, with respect to the current one, increased 0.8 points, in its monthly comparison, and is located at a level of 55.3 points. It is the best positioned item.
However, despite the fact that there was growth in the confidence of Mexican households to buy furniture, televisions and other household appliances, this item is 2.2 points below the levels of December 2021 and barely reaches 24 points, considered as low trust.
Better job prospects
Regarding the complementary components, consumer confidence also improved regarding the expectations they have to buy a car in the next 2 years. But this item is at a very low level, just 11.4 points.
It also improved the perception of the personal economic situation expected within 12 months compared to the current one; this item grew 0.7 points at a monthly rate and was located at 54.5 points.
Likewise, confidence about the employment situation in the country grew in the next 12 months, by 0.1 monthly points and 1.7 points in its annual comparison.
Confidence stability will be diminished in 2023
