Consumer confidence grows 0.5 point in July

The Consumer Confidence Index (ICC), calculated by Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), rose 0.5 point from June to July this year and reached 79.5 points, on a scale from zero to 200. As a result, the index reached its highest level since August last year, when it stood at 81.8 points.

The rise in confidence was driven by the Expectations Index, which measures consumers’ perception of the future, which increased 0.7 point, reaching 86.6 points.

The Current Situation Index, which measures confidence in the present, dropped 0.1 point to 70 points.
