In January, the Consumer Confidence Index (ICC) registered a balance of –28.6%, which means a decrease of 6.3 percentage points (pps) compared to the previous month. This was the lowest balance recorded since May 2021.
According to the report delivered by Fedesarrollo, the decrease in consumer confidence in the face of the mlast year was due to a 5.3 pps decrease in the Consumer Expectations Index and 7.8 pps in the Economic Conditions Index.

In January, the ICC decreased in all socioeconomic levels, and in all the cities analyzed.
Likewise, the report warns that in the first month of 2023, compared to the previous month, the willingness of consumers to buy housing, vehicles and durable goods decreased.
