The perception of Peruvians on individual economic improvement contrasts with that of collective improvement, according to a study of Ipsosmade by commission of Consulting support.
According to the report, 41% of Peruvians believe that the economic situation of his family in 12 months will be better. This percentage represents an increase of 8 percentage points compared to the same study six months ago.
In addition, this result is contrasted with the expectations of the country’s economic situation, also to 12 months, in which 40% of the population believe it will be worse.
For José Carlos Saavedra, consulting support partner, this contrast of perceptions has as their support the evolution of the different variables that affect the well -being of Peruvians.
He cited, first, the impact it has on the pocket of families and, therefore, in individual economic improvement the increase in formal employment, as well as low inflation. According to the BCR, in November 2024 formal employment at the national level increased 4.6%. Saavedra indicated that this growth was pulled mainly due to a weak cyclic recovery of private investment, as well as for the recovery of agro -export.
“This year we expect 10% growth in exported volumes of agricultural products and an increase greater than 6% of formal agricultural employment. That will be behind an improvement in living conditions especially of less qualified workers, ”said Saavedra, after indicating that consulting support provides for an increase in real labor income at socio -economic levels D and E, and a reduction in a reduction in The incidence of poverty.
Political perception
Saavedra explained that the population not only wants to have employment, but also with quality public services, such as efficient citizen security, and be sure that their children will have a better future than them. And given the problems of insecurity and the perception that politics is not contributing and operating in favor of the interests of citizenship, it is that 63% of Peruvians perceive that the country is going back and only 7% that is progressing.
He stressed that, for example, the population participation indicator that expects its family economic situation to be worse within 12 months or with the health crisis was affected as with the Government of Pedro Castillo.
“This government greatly affected the expectations of progress in the population and that has not yet changed,” he concluded.
