The National Assembly, through the Internal Policy Commission, will begin the popular consultation process on the Law on Inspection, Regularization, Action and Financing of Non-Governmental and Related Organizations, which has already been approved by Parliament in the first discussion.
The legislative body, in its session on Wednesday, announced that, starting next week, it will present the work plan for public consultation and the details of the deployment that will be carried out throughout the country.
The AN has considered it pertinent to draft legislation that issues sanctions against those NGOs that promote actions of violence and destabilization in the country.
Likewise, they have stated that these instances should be penalized when, through speeches and messages on social networks, they propose sanctions and coercive measures against the nation.
During Wednesday’s debate, the possibility of reviewing electoral laws and linking them in some way to the articles finally approved by the Legislature was also discussed.
Likewise, it has been proposed in the debate to establish in the articles a mechanism that prevents the interference of foreign factors through these organizations, especially in activities related to political issues and electoral processes, taking into account that this type of of restrictions are already applied in other countries in the region.
