In a 40-page document is compiled the project of the labor reform of the government of Gustavo Petro, which this Thursday, March 16, was filed for discussion in the Congress of the Republic.

According to the text, in it “A labor reform for Dignified and Decent Work in Colombia is adopted and the Substantive Labor Code, Law 50 of 1990, Law 789 of 2002 and other labor regulations are partially modified.”
The initiative indicates that the primary purpose of this Code is to achieve justice in labor relations, within a spirit of economic coordination and social balance.
The project seeks to protect and vindicate lThe labor rights of 22 million 32 thousand employed persons in the country, of which 8 million 992 thousand are women (40.8%) and 13 million 40 thousand men (59.2%).

The labor reform called ‘Work for Change’, It was built from the tripartite tables with the participation of the union centrals, the production unions and the government, about 3 thousand proposals were collected from 34 tables carried out in the territories, initiatives presented in the binding regional dialogues and analyzed in the subcommittees of the labor reform, where the greatest concern of workers was job stability.
