Consulate of Colombia in San Antonio del Táchira will open on July 3

The Colombian Consulate in San Antonio del Táchira, located on Carrera 20, between streets 3 and 4, in the Miranda neighborhood of the border city; he will resume his consular functions –suspended in 2019– on July 3; authorities from the neighboring country indicated. The Consulate of Colombia in San Antonio del Táchira (Venezuela) will be reactivated as of Monday 3rd of Julyin the same headquarters where it was located before the rupture of diplomatic relations between the two countries -in 2019, by order of the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro-, Colombian authorities reported this Friday, June 23.

The venue is located on Carrera 20, between streets 3 and 4, in the Miranda neighborhood of San Antonio.

“We are already making the move to have everything ready for that Monday,” said officials from the neighboring country.

After the consular office on the border closed, the officials moved to a structure in La Parada, right next to Migración Colombia; reviewed The nation.

Since bilateral relations between Colombia and Venezuela resumed, the governments of both nations have made progress in normalizing their pacts. This includes the reopening of its borders, various trade agreements, as well as mutual support in internal crises.

Colombian Ambassador visits the border

This Friday, June 23, the newly appointed ambassador of Colombia in Venezuela, Milton Rengifo Hernandezvisited the Atanasio Girardot international bridge.

During the tour, the ambassador came to talk with the officials stationed in the offices located on the Venezuelan side of the international route, inaugurated on January 1.

Rengifo Hernández was very interested in knowing everything related to the subject of commercial exchange between Colombia and Venezuela, which has been registering a gradual growth, especially in the neighbor’s exports.

The ambassador was accompanied by Víctor Méndez, representative of the Colombian-Venezuelan Chamber, as well as by Ingrid Cuadros, secretary of the Border Commission of the Government of Táchira and Pavel Rondón, political scientist and expert on the border area.

In the afternoon, the ambassador is scheduled to meet with the productive sector of Cúcuta, to continue deepening the progress nine months after the reopening.

Rengifo Hernández takes over from Armando Benedetti, who resigned after the power dispute scandal with the then presidential chief of staff, Laura Sarabia.
