The Dominican consulate in Orlando, Florida, calls for the second edition of the Latam Trade Show Orlando & Port Tampa Bay, on February 11, 12 and 13, 2025. The event, organized together with Mexico, Colombia and Florida, has as objective to generate business meetings and create commercial links with Florida.
During a press conference, the consul general of the Dominican Republic in Orlando, Florida, Francisco Holi Matos, together with the heads of the consulates of Mexico and Colombia, Juan Sabine Guerrero and César F. González, respectively, explained that this alliance between countries It also seeks to highlight the diversity and economic potential of the Latin American region “and thus consolidate the commercial exchange platform with the North American market that was established during the first Latam Trade Show.”
“In the first edition of the Latam Trade Show, pre-contract purchases were made for more than 28 million dollarswhich placed the country as a protagonist in Latin American commercial exchange. In addition, more than 60 strategic marketing agreements were reached and nine distribution contacts for Dominican products were opened throughout the state of Florida,” indicated the Dominican consul in Orlando.
In this context, Matos indicated that the goal for this year is to achieve negotiations for 50 million dollars, for which he invited leaders of companies and cooperatives from the agricultural sectors, fresh and processed foods, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, technology, sector aerospace and hair beauty to register for the event and take advantage of the stage to open new business opportunities and strengthen the contacts made during the first Latam Trade Show Orlando & Port Tampa Bay.
Matos explained that the United States is at the top of the main export destinations of the Dominican Republic, generating 548.2 million dollars in September 2024 alone, for 49.6% of the total exported, and “Florida is the main trading partner of the Dominican Republic in the North American country.”
“We hope that the event can expand and that in this new edition we can attract the greatest number of producers from the Dominican Republic, those who produce mangoes and avocados, with exportable capacity,” he noted.
About the event
The second edition of the Latam Trade Show Orlando & Port Tampa Bay will be held on February 11, 12 and 13, 2025, at the headquarters of the National Entrepreneur Center and in the port of Tampa Bay.
This year 130 companies will participate, and more than 140 business meetings are planned.
