Consul of Israel calls the Ortega regime “kleptocracy” and confirms that there are Hezbollah terrorists in Nicaragua

Consul of Israel calls the Ortega regime "kleptocracy" and confirms that there are Hezbollah terrorists in Nicaragua

Israel is concerned about the position taken by Daniel Ortega’s government by breaking diplomatic relations with the Holy Land because this means that the interests of the terrorist organizations of Iran and Palestine, Hezbollah and Hamas, are installed in Nicaragua, as stated by the Israeli consul in Costa Rica, Amir Rockmanen, in an interview given to the media Despacho 505.

The consul called the Ortega-Murillo dictatorship a “kleptocracy” so it is not a surprise that Nicaragua is an ally of the governments of Iran and Palestine. Israel claims that these terrorist groups “radical Iranian forces and terror groups act freely in Nicaraguan territory,” according to information from the Israeli intelligence service.

The diplomat revealed to the media that relations between Israel and Nicaragua were very few, to the point that the Sandinista regime had refused to receive the Israeli ambassador in Costa Rica, Michal Gur Aryeh, and that it was recurring with Nicaragua. According to Rockmanen, the ambassador has also not formally received notification of the breakup from Managua.

«They have never sent an official letter to Israel. We regret that Daniel Ortega’s regime, I can now freely say, does not represent the people of Nicaragua. In my two years in Costa Rica, where I have met many Nicaraguans, I have not had the opportunity to meet a Nicaraguan who is in favor of this dictatorship,” says Rockmanen.

The Jewish consul assured that the Nicaraguan dictatorship has many interests with the Iranians that is why they have chosen that world axis and considers that the position of the people could be very different. Rockmanen assures that Israel has very little commercial, educational and technological interest with the country; However, he admits that there are Israelis who seek Nicaragua as a tourist destination.

Until now, says the consul, Israel has not received benefits from Nicaragua; on the contrary, Israel for many years provided a lot of training in technology and support for rural development projects. «Due to the advance of Israel, it does not affect much. “It affects a lot every time Iran has more support in the world, this clearly affects us.”

“We are very concerned, the Ortega family regime not only gives free passage to radical Iranians, but also to other terrorist groups that act freely on Nicaraguan soil and we do not know the purposes of their actions,” says the consul. This is the third time that Sandinismo breaks diplomatic relations with Israel.

When asked about Ortega’s statements last Monday in which he stated that Israel supported the Somocista dictatorship, the consul stated that he does not know about the subject, so he did not want to delve into the question. I have not heard Mr. Ortega’s comment about Israel and our involvement. “The difference in this break in relations is the involvement of Iran and other anti-democratic efforts in Nicaragua”

The rupture between Nicaragua and Israel will last much longer, that is Rockmanen’s perception, because according to him, now Nicaragua’s interests are much stronger than on previous occasions and Nicaragua’s role in the face of Hezbollah and other antidemocratic groups that are now installed in Nicaragua it is much more important now.

The consul stated that the countries that accuse Israel of genocide are not those democratic countries, but those that have been accused of violating the Human Rights of their own citizens, such as Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba and Iran. Israel had until now refrained from denouncing these crimes, according to Rockmanen to avoid widening differences between the governments.

«Now we can speak more freely (…) Israel supports international press freedom, like all democratic countries, it supports citizens’ rights to freedom, to criticize their government, to free elections, and we support the right of political refugees around the world. », he said without specifying the facts related to the 2018 protests in Nicaragua.

The government of dictator Ortega has expressed on several occasions its support for Palestine and Iran against the state of Israel, which has led to the third break in diplomatic relations; However, until 2017, the Sandinista regime had invited Israeli businessmen to invest in the Central American country, even receiving several delegations of investors from that country.
