The Ministry of Public Works highlighted that the construction sector registered 456,943 jobs in the first eleven months of 2022, which is close to the historical peak of activity reached in 2015.
The better employment performance accompanies the growth of construction activity with an increase of 4.8% in the first eleven months of 2022, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec).
In this sense, these employment data they are close to the historical peak registered in July 2015, with 458,433 jobs.
Also, the volume of employment in the sector was 0.5% higher to the average corresponding to the months of October of the period 2008 – 2019.
In addition, 456,943 jobs were registered in October, a 17.2% year-on-year increase, which means that the month ended with a series of 19 consecutive months with year-on-year variations of more than 10%, exceeding the occupancy level of 2019, according to the latest INDEC report.
Secondly, for the sale of inputs for public and private works, INDEC highlighted an increase of 24.3% in steel, glass and other supplies faucets; 15.3% in finished concrete; 9.6% in plasterboard; 8.8% in portland cement; 8.8% in round iron and steel for construction; and 1.7% in asphalt.
While, cement consumption, for its part, registered a rise of 0.2% in November 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, marking the second highest record in history for that month.
By last, for the ninth consecutive month, the monthly cement consumption exceeded the threshold of one million tons; while the accumulated consumption between January and November represents the historical maximum, remaining 6.8% above the previous record, corresponding to the same period of 2015.
