Construction of the San José de Bongo bridge in Bolívar is 50% complete

The refurbishment of this road infrastructure will benefit more than 800 families in the El Rosario, La Mariquita, El Caney and Pueblo Nuevo sectors

The construction work of the San José de Bongo (La Avispa) bridge, located at kilometer 30, direction Puerto Ordaz-Ciudad Bolívar, contemplates an advance of 50%, as indicated by the Planning Secretary of the Government of Bolívar, Dimas González.

González explained that after the channeling and dredging of the river, they began the placement of a battery of 48-inch tubes for the implementation of the sewer system with their respective supports and reinforcements. “It is not something improvised, it is a job that is being carried out under a defined engineering, an effective structural solution is being given”.

Inclusion and development

The renovation of this road infrastructure will benefit more than 800 families in the El Rosario, La Mariquita, El Caney and Pueblo Nuevo sectors.

Dimas González highlighted that “as a multidisciplinary team, the Government of Bolívar, together with the Mayor’s Office of the Angostura del Orinoco municipality and basic companies of Guayana, maintain supervision in three main axes such as: Sucre bridge, known as Primero de Mayo, Angosturita, and San José de Bongo.

For his part, Jordin Márquez, leader of the population of San José de Bongo, thanked the government for its response. “After 5 years without care, today the population celebrates the beginning of this work, which will soon benefit young children and adults, both from this community and from adjacent sectors, because we have the school in this area.”
