He Puntacana Group, Mac Hotels and Marriott International started yesterday the construction of the hotel deluxe all inclusive W Punta Canain Uvero Alto, with the presence of President Luis Abinader.
He W Punta Cana It will be an all-inclusive luxury property for adults only, the first W Hotels in the Dominican market and one of the first “W all-Inclusive” resorts worldwide. it will cost some 130 million dollars.
This resort will have 349 rooms with balconies and plunge pools, as well as dynamic programming for adults. The resort layout includes a spa with eleven treatment rooms, a shopping area, three pools with bars, and eleven restaurant and bar options.
Frank Elias Rainieripresident and CEO of Grupo Puntacana, said that this project is part of the diversification and expansion strategies of Grupo Puntacana.
President Luis Abinader assured that with this project the 1,500 rooms in construction in the zone. The property is expected to open in the summer of 2024.
With the work, some 600 jobswhich will help reduce the unemployment rate, which, according to the president, for February of this year has reached a record low.
President Abinader thanked Begoña Amengual, Executive Vice President of Mac Hotels, for trusting the Dominican Republic to bring their investments. She described the country as a safe bet in which the Government guarantees investment.
Projects
Grupo Puntacana is a pioneer company in tourism and financial development that, for more than 52 years, has been developing the Punta Cana destination.
It executes an investment of 200 million dollars in the Punta Cana Free Zone Trade, with a free zone park, a logistics center, a fuel center and the creation of 8,000 new jobs.

The Group also has a stake in Terminal B2 of the Punta Cana Airport, to be inaugurated in May of this year, which will allow the arrival of an additional 1.5 million tourists, for a total of 5.5 million. The investment exceeds 90 million dollars.
MAC Hotels Group
The MAC Hotels company, founded in the 1980s by Miguel Amengual Cifre and his wife Doña Begoña Delgado, owns and manages its 7 hotels under the Pure Salt Luxury brands. Hotelaimed at the luxury segment, and MAC Hotels for the family market.
