This Wednesday afternoon, the President of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo toured the construction site of the new Gatún Generating Plant. There he was able to verify that this project has an execution progress of 39.1%.
The president highlighted that with an investment of more than B/.1,000 million, the new Plant will generate cleaner and more sustainable energy, which will reduce the cost of the national electricity rate in the future.
He also stressed that with the construction of the new Gatún Generating Plant, which should be ready in 2024, the country will have an economic injection and mania employment.
Currently this project generates more than 3,000 jobs and has contributed to the economic recovery, especially in the province of Colón.
