Construction of IPES building begins

President Luis Abinader began the construction of a new building that will be part of the second stage of the Police Institute of Higher Education (IPES), which will provide 18 classrooms to the higher education system.

With this work, President Luis Abinader confirms his interest in ensuring that the country has a better-trained and more qualified police force.

This will be a three-story building with an area of ​​3,124.22 square meters of construction, with an investment of RD$359 million.

The Minister of Housing and Construction, Carlos Bonilla, said that at Mived they feel “proud to be an instrument to help make this project a reality, which will translate into greater well-being for the country.”

Meanwhile, the deputy director of the National Police, General Juan Hilario Guzmán Badía, defined the start of this work as transcendental, since it will diversify the training programs and make the law enforcement institution more professional.

This new institute will have classrooms, a dining room, a meeting room, a waiting room, offices, audiovisual rooms, an infirmary, an electrical room, bathrooms, an auditorium, a library, archives and two laboratories.

Present were the Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos, the Mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, and Senator Faride Raful.

Likewise, the executive director of the Technical Commission for the Restructuring of the Educational System of the PN Mu-Kien Adriana Sang, and the executive commissioner for the Reform of the PN, retired general Luis Ernesto García Hernández.

Households

Abinader and Bonilla also delivered 100 new apartments this Sunday in the Mi Vivienda San Luis Plan, in Santo Domingo Este, to benefit the same number of families who now become owners of their homes.

With this new delivery, the Ministry of Housing and Construction (Mived) has built a total of 8,307 new homes under the Mi Vivienda Plan in different districts of the Dominican Republic, a record that no government administration had achieved in the past.

JAC Offices

Then, Luis Abinader and Bonilla delivered the remodeling of the offices of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), with an investment of RD$115 million.

Bonilla said: “Civil aviation is a very important part of the development of a country and its interconnection with the world.” The remodeling works included meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, reception, four-level office and elevator replacement. The roof was also waterproofed and the four levels were air-conditioned.
