In August, the National Construction Cost Index-M (Incc-M) decelerated in relation to July and rose 0.33%. In the previous month, the index had a rate of 1.16%. As a result, the index accumulates an increase of 8.80% in the year and 11.40% in 12 months.
The data were released today (26), in Rio de Janeiro, by the Brazilian Institute of Economics of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV Ibre). In the interannual comparison, in August of last year the index had risen 0.56%, with a high of 17.05% accumulated in 12 months.

Among the components of the index, the rate related to Materials, Equipment and Services changed from 0.60% in July to 0.14% in August. The rate corresponding to Materials and Equipment changed 0.03% in August, after rising 0.62% in the previous month. All subgroups had a decrease, with emphasis on materials for structure, which went from 0.63% to -0.08%.
Services increased from 0.49% in July to 0.68% in August, driven by the advance of ready-to-eat meals at the workplace, which rose from 0.29% to 1.54%.
Labor force changed 0.54% in August, after rising 1.76% in July, driven by the rate of specialized helpers, which went from 1.68% in July to 0.62% in August.
Among the capitals, all those surveyed showed deceleration in their rates of change from July to August: Salvador, Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and São Paulo. There was negative change in Belo Horizonte (-0.06%) and Porto Alegre (-0.08%).
