The Construction Confidence Index (ICST), from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), dropped 0.7 point from June to July this year. The drop came after a 1.2-point rise from May to June.
As a result, the ICST reached 96.8 points, on a scale of zero to 200 points. In the quarterly moving average, the indicator also decreased (0.3 point).
The fall in the index in July was caused by the worsening of perspectives for the coming months, as measured by the Expectations Index. The confidence of construction entrepreneurs in relation to the future dropped 2.3 points and dropped to 98.9 points, returning to below the neutral level (100 points), after three months.
The Current Situation Index, which measures confidence in the present, rose 0.9 points and reached 94.8 points.
The Capacity Utilization Level (Nuci) of Construction rose 0.8 percentage point and reached 77.9%, the highest value since December 2014 (78.4%).
