Constitutional draft: review here how the 14 chapters approved by the Expert Commission were formed

The Expert Commission of the new constituent process approved in general and unanimously the 14 chapters of the Magna Carta draft, which will be presented to the Constitutional Council, which will begin its work during the month of June.

Specifically, the body made up of 24 experts reviewed the 14 chapters presented by the various subcommittees and endorsed, without any negative vote, the main skeleton of what will be the proposal for a new Constitution, which will be submitted to a plebiscite during the month December of this year.

On Monday, April 3, the first three chapters were approved, referring to Fundamentals of the Constitutional Order (Chapter 1), Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, Guarantees and Duties (Chapter 2) and Political Representation and Participation (Chapter 3).

On Tuesday, April 4, the body approved the chapters on the functioning of the Legislative Power, called the National Congress (Chapter 4), the State Government and Administration (Chapter 5) and Regional and Local Government and Administration (Chapter 6).

During the morning of the same day, progress was made in the chapters referring to the Judiciary (Chapter 7), Constitutional Court (Chapter 8) and Public Ministry (Chapter 9), while for Wednesday the sections on Electoral Justice and Electoral Service were approved. (Chapter 10), Comptroller General of the Republic (Chapter 11) and Central Bank (Chapter 12).

During the afternoon, the Expert Commission approved, also unanimously, the last chapters, the one on Environmental Protection, Sustainability and Development (Chapter 13) and the one on Constitutional Change Procedures (Chapter 14).
