The constitutional Court (TC) pointed out that the political situation that the country is going through was resolved with the assumption of Dina Boluarte to the Presidency of the Republic and the dismissal of Pedro Castillo, who carried out a coup d’état when trying to close Congress.
Through a pronouncement, the president of this body, Francisco Morales Saravia, decided to demonstrate against the recent demonstrations throughout the country due to the vacancy and preliminary arrest against Castillo Terrones.
“According to article 43 of the Constitution, the Peruvian State subscribes to the representative democratic model and is organized under the principle of separation of powers. Next, the TC magistrate urged all public powers to act in accordance with the Magna Carta and respect fundamental rights. In addition, he called for calm due to recent events in the country.
“We call on the public powers to act subject to the Constitution and the laws, preserving constitutional democracy and fundamental rights. Citizens must remain calm and we call for State institutions to continue to function normally and with respect for public liberties“, held.
