The new military doctrine aimed at deployment and combat will be debated in the base assemblies as part of the preparation for the Constituent Congress of the Working Class, announced the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros.
The head of state stressed that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) constitutes a great force and highlighted that the organization that emerges from the Workers’ Constituent Congress must be structured into new battalions, adapted to modern forms of military organization.
He explained that the FANB currently has eight Strategic Comprehensive Defense Regions (REDI), each with combat plans, deployment of weapons and active participation of the militia. Likewise, he explained that in each state Comprehensive Defense Zones (ZODI) have been formed, subordinate to the REDI, in charge of executing defense plans through permanent exercises.
At the municipal level, he commented, Comprehensive Defense Areas (ADI) have been established, which complement the national security structure.
The national leader recalled that the four components of the FANB continue to operate, along with the Bolivarian Militia, recognized as a fifth special component within the country’s military organization.
With this announcement, the Government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the comprehensive defense of the nation, linking the participation of the working class in the construction of new forms of military and social organization.
