Consar reviews cases of fraud in unemployment withdrawals from the Afores

“We are doing a very dynamic review through the systems we have in Consar and in the IMSS to verify that the workers’ salary is always correct and there is no manipulation of the salary,” said the head of Consar during his participation. at the event “20 years of Financial Education” organized by Citibanamex.

Cervantes highlighted that what is sought is for the worker to receive the amount of money that was actually paid to the IMSS because the mechanism was to register for a couple of days in social security or a week in the institute without having paid the corresponding fee.

The agency does not have a record of the specific number of people who engaged in this practice, but highlighted that they continue to work hand in hand with the IMSS to contain these cases.

Last July, unemployment withdrawals registered a maximum in the year with more than 3,000 million pesos, which is when Consar began the inspections. By August, the amount of withdrawals was reduced to 1,562 million pesos – almost half.

However, despite Consar’s locks and inspections, in September there was a new increase in withdrawals to 2,125 million pesos.
