Conmebol imposes severe sanctions on Uruguayan national team players

Conmebol announced the harsh sanctions it applied to the Uruguayan players who participated in a brawl in the stands of Bank America Park in the semifinals of the 2024 Copa América where they lost to Colombia.
At the end of the match in which Colombia defeated Uruguay, the players faced each other reaching the tunnels but this fight ended up in the stands where several Uruguayan players ended up pushing and shoving fans, which led to the sanctions detailed below:

Darwin Núñez, sanctioned with 5 matches and a fine of 20 thousand dollars; Rodrigo Betancur 4 matches of suspension and fine of 16 thousand dollars.
Mathías Olivera, Ronald Araújo and Jose María Giménez were sanctioned with 3 matches and a fine of 12 thousand dollars each.
While Sebastian Caceres, Matias Viña, Emiliano Martinez, Brian Rodriguez, Santiago Mele and Facundo Pellistr were fined $12,000.
Conmebol also imposed a fine of 20 thousand dollars on the Uruguayan Football Association.
