A Conmebol commission was present at the Santa Cruz classic this Sunday, carrying out an inspection of the Ramón Tahuichi Aguilera stadium, which will host the grand final of the 2025 Copa Sudamericana, scheduled for November 22. This visit is part of the preparations to ensure that the sports venue meets the international standards required for an event of such magnitude.
The commission arrived to carry out a first evaluation not only of Tahuichi, but also of the hotel infrastructure of Santa Cruz, which is expected to be essential to receive visitors. Starting in January, the stadium will begin a renovation process with an initial investment of 2 million dollars by Conmebol and the Government.
During the inspection, relevant data was collected and a notebook of requirements that the Departmental Sports Service (SDD) must comply with was delivered. The director of the SDD, Daniel Serrate, was present to coordinate with the commission and ensure that all necessary observations are taken into account.
The Copa Sudamericana final promises to have a significant economic impact on Santa Cruz. In 2024, Paraguay received tourists from 52 countries during the same event, causing a collapse in its hotel capacity. Santa Cruz has the right conditions to avoid similar problems and offer a memorable experience to visitors.
Gastón Uribe, representative of the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF), was also part of this first inspection. Starting next week, the necessary requirements will begin to be addressed for Santa Cruz to stand out as a great host internationally.
The president of Conmebol, Alejandro Domínguez, is expected to wear Santa Cruz to continue with the inspections with the department authorities. This collaboration seeks to improve various aspects of the stadium and ensure that everything is ready for the event.
