The Paraguayan Alejandro Domínguez and the Slovenian Aleksander Ceferinpresidents of Conmebol and UEFA, respectively, opened a shared office in London on Monday.
The creation of this space is due to the strategic cooperation agreement signed by both institutions on February 12, 2020 and extended on December 15, 2021, by which develop common projects.

UEFA and Conmebol seek to organize a diverse series of football events, as well as cooperate in areas such as refereeing and coaching programs.
Domínguez, who highlighted the historical significance of this inauguration, explained that the two organizations have “decided to take their cooperation to a higher strategic level.” “We are the two continents with the greatest tradition and prestige in the most popular sport on the planet. On the pitch we are loyal rivals, but the understanding that football is a powerful force for tolerant, peaceful and pluralistic societies brings us together,” he said.

Ceferin, for his part, stated that “it was easy to build a fruitful and lasting relationship” like the one that the two institutions have because they share “the same love and passion for football”, and considered that the office “is the next symbolic step in the right direction” that will help develop football.
The first major sporting event to be organized by both confederations is the so-called ‘Finalissima’a match that will face the champion of the Copa América 2021, Argentina, and that of the Eurocopa 2020, Italy, and that will be played at the Wembley stadium in London on June 1.
