The president of the Venezuelan Confederation of Industrialists (Conindustry) Luigi Pisella, warned that if Venezuelans want to have services, their prices must be honest.
He made special reference to the value of the gasabout which he said he agreed with the rate of 0.50 cents of a dollar per liter.
“We agree to charge diesel at 0.50 because the important thing for us is that there is the product,” he said for Unión Radio.
Disclosure of service prices must be gradual
Likewise, he expressed the will of Conindustria to support this process of truthfulness of prices, which he considered, “must be in a consonant manner.”
He recalled that the Venezuelan State can no longer subsidize services because Venezuela is no longer an oil country. “Oil income is over and we must generate it internally.”
In addition, he considered that public policies are still needed to help the growth of the industry. “The fiscal deficit has been controlled and with it a decrease in inflation,” he said.
He stressed that fuel supply problems are being felt again, as well as that the impact of its increase varies according to the area of the country.
“We have had a slight growth in units and sales in the first five months of the year compared to the same ones from the previous year,” he said.
