According to an interview conducted in 2021 with the parliamentarian and broadcast by a television news program, Agüero said that she did not feel like she was from Arequipa. “When they asked me where you are from, I felt that short circuit, and I said, where do I say from? Because I can’t say that I’m from Cusco because I would be lying, but I can’t say that I’m from Arequipa because I don’t feel like I’m from Arequipa.”he indicated.
She also said that when she took her children to Arequipa from Beverly Hills, United States, where they had studied, there were people who questioned her decision. According to her, they told her: “You are going to take them to where the street vendors take their children, who cut faces and who are lesbians, and who are all criminals and they scare you.”
These statements caused the Yanahuara District Municipality to declare Agüero persona non grata. According to the municipality, the comments of the Perulibrist legislator are unacceptable.

“Just as she claims not to be proud of her land or to be from Arequipa, out of decency and a minimum sense of ethics she should also have refrained from deceiving the city by running for congress for Arequipa,” the statement said.
Today, Friday, the parliamentarian arrived at the Independencia Americana school in Arequipa to talk with the students, but when they noticed her presence, the students began to throw objects at her and forced her to quickly leave the school amid security measures. Agüero was wearing a red polo shirt with the image of her leader Vladimir Cerrón, who has been a fugitive from justice for 323 days.
